“I was just thinking about my family the whole time,” Rodrigo shared, her voice breaking with emotion. “I don’t know, it’s just beautiful.” She went on to express gratitude to her fans, saying, “I’m so grateful everyone came. It was so much fun. I just feel like the luckiest girl that ever lived.”
Rodrigo’s heartfelt performance struck a particularly personal note when she sang “Enough for You,” a song that reminded her of her late grandfather.
ADVERTISEMENTThough he never had the chance to see her perform, Rodrigo shared that his influence remains an essential part of her musical journey. In one of her interviews, Rodrigo shared that her grandfather predicted her rise to stardom.
“Filipinos are such good singers,” she told Jimmy Fallon earlier, praising the energy and passion of her Filipino audience. It’s no wonder the crowd’s enthusiastic sing-alongs turned the Philippine Arena into a massive chorus of voices, leaving Rodrigo visibly moved.
The “GUTS” tour stop in the Philippines also stood out for its inclusivity. Keeping ticket prices at an affordable 1,500 pesos across all sections allowed fans from different backgrounds to come together for the night of a lifetime, while contributing to a greater cause.
For Rodrigo, this homecoming concert was a full-circle moment and a tribute to her roots, her family and the love she shares with her Filipino fans.
